Passing around the rim of the crater you descend into the Serengeti Plains. Here the landscape changes dramatically. During the annual migration of the wildebeest the plains are covered in herds of Buffalo, Wildebeest and Zebra.
During the dry season antelope dominate the landscape. Where there is prey there are also predators; Cheetah, Lion and if you’re lucky Leopard. Known as the home of the big cats and covering a vast area the Serengeti is a marvel to behold.
Lions gather to rest in the shade before heading out to hunt; crocodiles bask along the river, hippos cluster in the pools, giraffe saunter past with the utmost grace and poise and elephant can be so close as to hear their breathing. Truly awesome.
